As a yoga teacher and longtime practitioner with over fifteen years of experience, I’ve seen how powerful this practice can be. I’ve been where you are: overwhelmed, anxious, and running on empty. Yoga gave me the tools to reconnect with my body, quiet my mind, and meet life with more ease and grace than I ever thought possible.
Whether you’re a beginner stepping onto the mat for the first time or someone returning after time away, my classes are designed to help you build strength, restore balance, and discover the peace that’s already within you.
Build physical and emotional strength.
Restore Inner balance and resilience.
Cultivate mindfulness on and off the mat.
Reconnect with your natural rhythm of breath and being.
At Breath and Being Yoga, we believe yoga isn’t about escaping life; it’s about embracing it, one mindful breath and one intentional movement at a time.
You deserve to live your bravest, boldest, most beautiful life, both on and off the mat.
“I feel stronger! My neck and shoulders don’t hurt as much. My balance has improved. I feel lighter. Most importantly, my mind is calmer. You as a teacher make me want to come back. I appreciate all the modifications you offer.”
– Savannah T.
– Ana A.
“I’ve noticed a significant shift – not just physically, but emotionally, too. It’s become something I look forward to as a way to reset, recharge, and manage stress in a healthy, consistent way.”
– Luisa J.
“I’ve certainly gained strength. I’ve unexpectedly gained mental health. Related to mental health and also unexpected has been my value of the topics. I like the adaptation of moves and options for customization.”
– Gianna R.
“I have seen so many improvements in balance, flexibility, and breathing. The instructor is helpful in making participants feel that yoga is for everyone and can be adapted to each individual’s strengths.”
– Maureen G.
Meg Heimstead is passionate about helping people use yoga to live their bravest, boldest, and most beautiful lives, both on and off the mat.
She first discovered yoga during her undergraduate acting training at the University of Evansville, where movement and breathwork were woven into the curriculum. Then life happened, and she stepped away from the practice for several years.
Fifteen years ago, Meg returned to the mat while navigating debilitating anxiety. As an actress, the pressure to perform was relentless, her stress levels were chronically high, and racing thoughts kept her awake most nights.
Yoga showed her another way – a way to pause, to question her thoughts, and to come home to the present moment. On her mat, Meg found a freedom she didn’t think was possible, along with tools to meet life’s challenges with more clarity, confidence, and grace.
In 2023, she completed her 200-hour teacher training at Bella Prana Yoga and Wellness Collective. Meg’s classes weave mindful movement with intentional breath, offering variations so students can truly listen to their bodies. She believes yoga isn’t about perfecting postures; it’s about using them as doorways into understanding ourselves and the patterns of our minds.
Whether in the studio or the theatre, Meg’s passion lies in helping others reconnect with themselves, their stories, and the world around them.
